Tom Anthony Rhys Scriven is a true all-rounder, as he is a quality right-arm medium-fast and an equally brilliant batsman. He is a former England Under-19 player who represented them during the 2018 Youth World Cup, and also a regular Hampshire representee.
Born in Oxford, Scriven is a graduate of the Hampshire Academy, before making it into their Second XI in 2018, aged 18 years. He also played for the county at various age-group levels, before breaking into the national U-19 team in 2017.
The following year, the allrounder played a lively part for England during the U19 World Cup, as he batted and bowled brilliantly during the competition.
In August 2018, the teenager received a surprise entry to the first XI to make his T20 debut against Gloucestershire in the 2018 t20 Blast. The next year, he booked a rookie contract for Hampshire during the 2020 season.
The Oxford-born then made his first-class debut against Surrey, in a Covid-19 interrupted season, during the 2020 Bob Willis Trophy. He made his List A debut in the 2021 Royal London One-Day Cup, versus Essex.
Scriven has shown his class with both bat and ball, in his brief cricketing career, thus far. The allrounder has shown all the ingredients to become a vital part of the Hampshire circuit and then of England, sooner or later.
