Born in Lincoln, Sophie Elizabeth N Munro is a right-arm medium pacer who plays her cricket in England.
In her debut match, Munro achieved her best bowling figures in County Championships as she rattled Middlesex with 5/24, playing for Nottinghamshire. Playing her second game, she scalped 4/28 against Berkshire, taking the total wicket tally to 9.
In 2019, the pace bowler became the top wicket-taker for her domestic side with 14 to her name. She further helped the side to win the Women’s Twenty20 Cup in the East Midlands Group of the competition by picking six wickets in 2021.
Amidst these, the Lincoln-born also appeared for Yorkshire Diamonds in a game during 2018’s Women’s Cricket Super League against Loughborough Lightning, where she didn’t have any opportunity to bat and bowl.
Sophie Munro represented Lightning in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and collected four wickets in the five matches, with 3/32 being her best bowling figures. She bettered her performance in the next season of this fantastic silverware, scalping six wickets and also picking the same amount of wickets in the Charlotte Edwards Cup.
London Spirit signed the Nottinghamshire cricketer in the first edition of Women’s The Hundred. She will be donning the Trent Rockets jersey in the second edition of this entertaining format.
