Known for her economical spells, Jintimani Kalita is an emerging fast-bowling talent coming out of Assam.
Kalita took up cricket at the age of 12 after gaining interest in the game by constantly dropping her brother at the cricket academy.
The 19-year-old represents the Assam state team for the past few years and is a key component in their pace bowling department. In addition, he can be a handy contributor with the willow in hand.
In the 2021-22 ACA Women’s T20 Challengers Trophy, the Guwahati-born bagged four wickets and scored 65 runs, which helped her team Dhansiri Dashers reach the final stage of the competition.
The acrobatic cricketer represented India C in the U-19 Women's Quadrangular series and delivered 56 dot balls out of 84 deliveries. Then, she was a part of India A side in the U-19 Women's Quadrangular series featuring teams like India B, Sri Lanka, and West Indies.
In the Women’s Senior One Day Trophy 2023, Kalita rose to the occasion by slamming 78 off 114 against Meghalaya.
The consistent performances helped her to secure a Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 contract from Mumbai Indians worth 10 Lakhs.
