Seamer Esmae MacGregor has been one of the successful bowlers in recent seasons of English domestic T20 cricket. After a breakout campaign in the T20 Blast with her county side Essex, MacGregor was picked up as a Vitality Wildcard in The Hundred with Manchester Originals, a reward she called "unexpected".
A product of the Sunrisers Academy, MacGregor narrowly missed out on finishing as the leading wicket-taker of the T20 Blast 2025 season. She fell just one short of Warwickshire spinner Millie Taylor despite playing five fewer matches due to injury and Essex’s failure to reach Finals Day.
MacGregor made her professional debut in 2023 against the Southern Vipers.
The 2004-born cricketer made her county debut in 2021, for Essex against Sussex.
In June 2025, she recorded her best T20 figures when she picked up four wickets for eight runs off 3.2 overs for Essex against Somerset.
Notably, MacGregor credits her experienced county teammates Eva Gray and Kate Coppack for her cricketing success.
