Ava Canning is an Irish born cricketer who plays for Typhoons and Ireland women’s cricket team.
A right-arm medium-pace bowler, Canning was fast-tracked from an early age and was drafted in the Ireland squad to face Scotland for a four-match Women’s T20I series in 2021.
She made her T20I debut in the first match of the series and picked up her maiden wicket in the form of Becky Glen.
After a successful opening outing with her national side, Canning was offered a non-retainer contract by Cricket Ireland.
Canning is a crucial player for the Irish team and her bowling will be a key asset for the Ireland side moving forward. Still raw at the moment, Canning still has a scope to polish her skills.
