27-year-old Asad Pathan hails from Ankleshwar in Gujarat. After initially playing for the Railways, Pathan went on to play for Gujarat. He was signed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of IPL 2011.
Primarily a leg-spinner, Pathan is also a capable lower-order batsman and has often been promoted up the order to increase the scoring rate.
